After retirement from Government Ordnance Factory he lived in Dehradun where he died of complications arising out of stomach cancer on November 17, 2013.
Here's a sample of his writing.
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Hamesha Dair Ker Deta Hoon Mein
zaruri bat kahni ho
koi wada nibhana ho
use awaz deni ho
use wapas bulana ho
hamesha der kar deta hun main
