Sex Decriminalized In India
So the other day when you enjoyed that most exceptional blowjob you committed a heinous crime under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). People caught taking or giving blowjobs, or any such jobs for that matter, were until recently, punishable up to life in prison! So all those frothing over the Delhi high courts judgment, de-criminalizing consensual gay sex, should stop whining and thank your stars. You've just been saved a big baggage of sins. By the way, this law was crafted by the same guy (Thomas Macaulay) who once said -

My Funny Valentine

My Funny Valentine, originally uploaded by hpk.
Behold the way our fine feathered friend,
His virtue doth parade
Thou knowest not, my dim-witted friend
The picture thou hast made
Thy vacant brow, and thy tousled hair
Conceal thy good intent
Thou noble upright truthful sincere,
And slightly dopey gent
You're my funny valentine,
Sweet comic valentine,
You make me smile with my heart.
Your looks are laughable, un-photographable,
Yet, you're my favorite work of art.
Is your figure less than greek?
Is your mouth a little weak?
When you open it to speak, are you smart?
But, don't change a hair for me.
Not if you care for me.
Stay little valentine, stay!
Each day is valentine's day

Posting this several years after my original funny valentine. Its funny how Valentine's day has become an instrument of criminals fucking around with both the haves and the have nots. I long for those wonderful days when Valentines day was about girls, greeting cards, love, friendship, courtship, make-ups, break-ups and fucking around.

Stand By Me Around The World
Great songs unite. Christmas Mubaraq & Happy New Year!
Stand By Me.
I hope, in the coming year we become better human beings, especially better Indians. I hope we would give up the temptation of superiority/persecution in the name of race, cast, creed, language, religion, region, numbers et. al. I hope we'll be honest to our selves, our government, our job and our children. I hope we'll try to be such good people that the politicians, who emerge from with in us, will be what we want them to be - honest, upright, hard working role models.
I hope this year, we'll try to find out the number of states there in the North East and who are those Chinese looking people in Ladakh or what more voter turn out in Jammu & Kashmir really means. I hope this year we'll be "equally" outraged for people being killed any where in India. I hope we'll try to find out more about ourselves and our country and reach out to people who lie beyond television coverage.
I hope this year, we'll stand by each other in the letter & spirit of our constitution.
Amen.

Doomed to be corrupt...?
So the other day I was talking to a friend and the topic of corruption came. My friend is of the opinion that population is the major reason behind corruption and that’s why corruption is so less in western countries. Probably that’s true. Her argument was that in a less populated country the competition for resources is less and individual voice has a better chance of making a difference. Probably all this is true. Probably there really is less corruption in western countries with less population.
What really got me thinking was, living in a country with a billion heads and ticking, are we bound to be a corrupt nation for ever. I mean, going by the above argument, in order to become less corrupt, we need to some how randomly select (like they randomly select passengers in international flights) million or so heads every now and then and tell them how unwelcome they are on mother earth and facilitate their departure. I have no doubts who these randomly selected people would be…
